This Sunday, FUUF joins hundreds of congregations around the country who are focusing their worship and conversation on the topic white supremacy culture. We are answering this call of UU leaders around the country who are people of color and indigenous, as well as white allies. The organizers of the #UUWhiteSupremacyTeachIn say: “ ‘White supremacy’ is a provocative phrase, as it conjures up images of hoods and mobs. Yet in 2017, actual ‘white supremacists’ are not required in order to uphold white supremacist culture. Building a faith full of people who understand that key distinction is essential as we work toward a more just society in difficult political times.”
Plan to stay after worship for a special opportunity to engage in further reflection and learning with the Blount County United Education Committee.
